Thank you to all of you who recently attended our latest B.Y.O.M. Event.
What is B.Y.O.M.? Well Coffee hosts quarterly events called Bring Your Own Mug. The purpose of B.Y.O.M. is to engage peoples’ hearts in a relevant way. Each B.Y.O.M. has a different theme and a different cause/organization that we are bringing attention to for the evening. Through the sale of coffee at these events, there is a built-in donation to the cause/organization that we are advocating for and, so, through a simple purchase attendees can be a part of change in a small way. The organizations that we host B.Y.O.M. Events for are also in attendance to create a level of transparency that allows attendees to really connect face-to-face with these organizations in order to give them the opportunity to respond to the need, learn more, and walk away empowered to take action. A quote that we love sums up the mission and heart of B.Y.O.M. events:
“Love until it hurts… What I do, you cannot do; but what you do, I cannot do. The needs are great and none of us, including me, ever do great things. But we can all do small things with great love and together we can do something wonderful.” -Mother Teresa
Past B.Y.O.M. Events:
B.Y.O.M. : Red + White. Feb. 19th, 2010. ThirdSpace (www.thirdspace.com)
Asia's largest red-light district: Three square kilometers crammed with an estimated 40,000 women working its 24 lanes, earning at least $200 million a year in revenue for their traffickers.
Lardner Group :: Making Dallas Better, ThirdSpace and LAZ Parking contributed significantly to help Well Coffee host this post-valentine red and white party that drew out over 200 people to a downtown loft venue in support of Sower of Seeds’ efforts in India. The event raised close to $3,000 for SOS’s Project Red Light Rescue. www.sowerofseeds.org.
B.Y.O.M. : Christmas Party. Dec. 4th, 2009. Santa’s House.
Each day 5,000 children under the age of 5 die due to waterborne diseases.
Well Coffee served up hot toddies at a beautiful home in the Preston Hollow area of Dallas just before Christmas in order to come alongside Water Is Life. Through the sale of coffee plus the generous matching gifts of two local companies, over 500 water filters were raised that evening, which were shipped to Haiti in response to the earthquake to provide clean water. It was a festive gathering of over 200 people, with smores by the firepit, pictures with Santa, and Christmas Blend on tap B.Y.O.M. was the most memorable holiday party of the year.
