ABOUT: Our Story | Our Name | Our Vision | Our History

Well Coffee is the culmination of a long-time dream and a starting place for so much more to come.   Owners, Jordan and Brooke Ramsay, were united from very different backgrounds and together are growing the company.  Brooke fell in love with coffee when she discovered the positive side-effects it had on her studies at Baylor University and from that point on the near-campus coffeeshop became a regular home away from home for her to “study”.  Upon graduation in 2003 she began working in the retail coffee world and gained further knowledge of the product she loved so much. Her simultaneous involvement in the non-profit world and time spent traveling overseas and experiencing other cultures, peaked her interest in the origins of coffee…places like Africa, Indonesia and Central America.  She poured herself into independent study of “fair trade” and finally at the end of 2008 got to travel to Rwanda, Africa and also Honduras to meet with farmers, talk to coffee exporters and experience the production side of coffee face to face. Her time overseas fueled her passion when she saw how dependent entire economies are on this commodity. Upon return to the States, Brooke began learning about coffee roasting and formulating a business plan for a micro-roasting concept to be born in Dallas, TX. November 2009 marked Well Coffee Roasters inception and in the time since then, Well Coffee has a growing portfolio of wholesale accounts in the Dallas area and many individual customers all over the States.

Jordan also attended Baylor for undergrad at the same time as Brooke but while she was hanging out in coffee shops, he was more involved in the Greek system. When Jordan began to court Brooke in January of 2011, he didn’t even like coffee!  But he did have a passion for business and a strong background in finance and operations that was pivotal in the company’s growth.  Throughout their dating relationship and engagement, Jordan learned how to roast coffee and they spent countless hours roasting and working together.  Their time spent in the roastery not only grew Well Coffee but it was something that tethered their hearts together as a team.  Jordan is now the primary roaster for Well Coffee and has refined his palate to the level of a “coffee snob” :)   His strengths and innovative spirit have provided the company with leadership and measurable growth and will continue to be essential in Well Coffee’s success.

The Ramsays look forward to the journey ahead.
